BASIC SALARY: up to 40,000

LOCATION: Home-based & covering the South of England from the M4 and the Thames south ideally living on the M4 corridor

This is a classic Area Sales Manager role where you will be managing and developing existing accounts 80% and generating new business 20%. Working with the incumbent for 6 months until he retires in September 2020, you will be taking over a well-established and over target area with technical and sales support from an internal sales team. You'll be selling a range of end of line packaging machinery (order values range from 2,500 to 10,000 with AOV of 5,000) to the food, beverage & logistics/distribution markets.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager: Packaging Machinery / Packaging / Capital Equipment: Food, Beverage, Logistics & Distribution
* You MUST have a proven track record as an external/field salesperson having sold to, or working in the industrial, technical or engineering sectors * Ideally you will have sold capital equipment or better still end of line packaging machinery to the food, beverage or distribution markets * They will consider external salespeople who have sold packaging into the same markets * Any engineering background or qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential

You'll be joining a very well established and profitable UK sales & service office of a European market leading manufacturer of end of line packaging machinery. You'll be part of a field sales team supported by an internal sales and sales administration team. People who join the company tend to stay with the company and they like to promote from within.
